essential desk beauty

I find the change of seasons really dries out my hands and lips so I keep a few items at my desk to keep my hands soft and my lips from cracking. I love the way jasmine smells, it’s one of the most soothing scents to me. It brings a little calm over me, which is ideal for stressful work days. I also found the most adorable little container of Vaseline. It’s so tiny, which is originally why I had to have it (yep, I am a sucker for cute packaging). It’s perfect for my desk though because I can use it on my lips and my cuticles or apply to a blister that my shoes are giving me.  I just leave these two items out near my computer all day and just use whenever I feel the need.

seen another sunset on my own

At my office I've become the one that everyone checks out the nail polish on a regular basis- probably because I am borderline crazy and do my nails about three times a week. I like to do my nails in like the last half hour before I go to bed - it's relaxing to sit still and do nothing while the nails dry watching a little bit of TV. I just bought a new essie polish- called Merino Cool- which is this gorgeous grey- purple color that I can see myself wearing all the time. It's just purple enough for that girly feel, but neutral enough to be appropriate for the boardroom.  I might have to stock on this one.

walk me out in the morning dew

I stumbled upon this great moisturizer when I earned a free sample at Sephora - I love to get the mini sizes to in order try out some of the products that maybe I wouldn't even look at when at the store. Benefit's Total Moisture is truly one of those products that makes your skin look so good- and it doesn't cause me to break out. My skin looks and feels worlds better since using this product- feeling smoother and softer. The lotion also has that clean smell that I flip over (in my mind heaven smells like fresh laundry).

put your head on my shoulder

I just can't get on board with that no-poo movement- the one where people have given up on using shampoo on a regular basis. I tend to look like I've rolled my head in butter without a good shampoo most days - it's a very rare occasion that I can get away with a day off from washing. One of my favorite daily shampoos is Head and Shoulders - Smooth and Silky. I never imagined that dandruff shampoo would top my list. One of the reasons I find this a great shampoo is that it really does tame the hair like it says it will, my hair is smoother, with a lot less work (meaning less time with the hair straightener). An added benefit is that this shampoo smells delicious as well - what's not to love about great looking, clean smelling hair?
