four-eyes

I clearly need to stop going to Kate Spade online. I find so many things that strike me as so cool and sort of make it to my maybe wish list (you know the list, things you like but mentally cannot justify in your head right now to buy).  This unique necklace in the shape of glasses is so cute – I keep thinking about what a fun little accessory that would be for work. My inner nerd rejoices seeing them and I wonder if I’d truly wear this fun piece or would just try it on all the time and just take it off feeling like it wasn’t truly me. Anyway, I think the glasses necklace is amazingly cute.

PS: Kate Spade is offering 30% off with friends and family with the code FALL13FF

“I want muscles like a man…

But not hands like a man” – direct quote from one of the most intense girls in my boot camp classes (this girl can do one handed pull ups – I am lucky I can lift my coffee with one hand). She’s right though – there’s nothing feminine about hands rough will callouses and rips from lifting kettle bells and weights. However, there is something to be said for looking like Lara Croft with well-defined and toned arms – hence the need for me to finally suck it up and buy lifting gloves.  Nothing says I work out like owning a pair of these babies and well keeping them in your purse on a regular basis (one of these days I’ll have to do the “what’s in my purse” posts).

see polka dots

When you live in the city, a trip to the mall can be a bit fascinating. I feel like I’ve gotten very use to doing a lot of online shopping (NYC crowds, shopping and tourists- ick, ick, ick, ick), as well as planning trips to specific places with specific purchases in mind. Stores in New York allow you to avoid going to multiple if you don’t want to be swayed into looking due to window displays. On a recent trip to a mall, I found this lovely scarf at The Gap, which I plan on wearing a lot during my two trips coming up – one to Charleston with my mom, and one to San Francisco with Ali (ever loyal blog reader). This just feels like one of those accessories that will go well with everything, and keep me nice and toasty on those chilly nights or days, depending what state I am in.  I love the polka dots and the rich fall color.

take these chains

my ladder was a bit shadowy
I absolutely love having colored flats to brighten up outfits- since I do tend to dress a bit drab some times (think black, grey, navy – my staples!). I found this pair at TJ Maxx and I love the details- the studs make this even more fun than just the eye catching color. I was also very excited that these are pointy toed- weird I know, but that’s my favorite shape for flat shoes.
clearly feeling daring at work... not a normal occurrence

wild horses....

I believe it was about sixth grade when scrunchies were a major fashion statement- remember when you would wear them around your wrist when you weren't ponytailed? I cannot quit the habit of having a ponytail holder (no longer the fabric covered scrunchy popular with gymnasts) on my wrist at all time- unless it's in my hair. I do kind of feel a bit like a kid still since I am brought right back to middle school when I see my wrists. I decided it was high time to find a more grown up looking - or shall I say more bracelet like. I found these adorable hair ties from Mane Message. I love how they look like ribbons on your wrist but look very cute holding back your hair.

for a necklace sewn

I love really long necklaces to break up a solid dress or just separates of similar colors. I bought this one from JCrew a few weeks ago and I love wearing it to work. The different textures of the charms means it goes with every type of earring from pearls to diamonds, giving many options for other accessories.
