Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween. I live across the street from the cutest grocery store that's had scores of pumpkins all season long - so I've been enjoying the pop of orange when I look at my window every single day. Is it wrong to secretly be looking forward to the Christmas trees that must be coming out soon? I know, I know one holiday at a time.
Anyway, I hope you all have safe and wonderful holidays out there tonight. Please be extra careful, with the Friday night my brain just thinks people are going to be making less then good decisions, so remember - I want to read your weekend recaps.
This weekend should be a good one. I get to see some little ones on Saturday, along with their parents. Sunday, one of my friends from the tri-state is stopping by before heading home.
See you on Monday!

friday...
I am extra excited for Friday this week (can I get a Friday cheer please?). It's been a very long work week and after today, deadline number one for the fall will come and go. I've been living at my office, but that's okay. I actually managed to get through this week feeling good, unlike last year which was an emotional roller coaster. It's great what another year can bring for you. I am not out of the woods yet for being totally zen, but it's good not to be super frazzled yet.
The major plan for this weekend is to make a massive trip to Walmart for like the 900 things needed to move into my new place. Yay for a new place, boo for needing things like paper towels and dish soap - my to purchase list is a bit frightening. I also need to drop in and make the final payment for my new couch (who's coming to visit?), so it can be delivered the week after I move in. So much to do so little time. I'll also do another HomeGoods trip - why is there so much cute stuff there? To say I am excited about my move is a complete understatement.
In other news, I am really hoping for a better football performance this week, I am currently in last place in my pool and I was knocked out of the survivor pool week one (thanks Bears, you rock!). Last year I won that survivor pool, so I was hoping to make it at least to week two before it was all over. Anyway the silver lining is I am currently leading my fantasy league - thanks to my male co-workers who picked my team while I was on vacation. I promised one guy lunch if the season continues to go well - because I never would have done that well otherwise.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend. Do something new.

three cheers for friday
Hip Hip Hooray!
This weekend is one I’ve been looking forward to for so
long. It’s my friends’ annual pool party back down in New York. When the party
date was announced, I knew I had to figure out a way to come down and see a
good majority of my friends in one sweep. It’s so nice when you can see so many
people in one place instead of trying to coordinate so many multiple side trips.
Weekend trips are usually not enough time for me to get in everything I want to
do.
This is my second time to New York since I’ve left, and I’ve
got one more to go next week (I am definitely spending too much time at the airport
– just so you know). I've been going quite a bit for work - the irony. It’s been good to go back, see some of the favorites –
like my favorite gym class, lunch place and it reminds me it’s not too far to
get back and visit from time to time.
Here’s hoping to a beautiful weekend, and no sunburns.

friday, i'm in love
Oh thank goodness it’s the weekend, anyone else have that
feeling like the weeks are getting super long? Part of it for me thinks this
due to the fact that the sun is setting so early that I am at my desk and it’s
pitch dark outside and only 4:45. I miss leaving work and getting to enjoy the
sunshine. Anyway, I am pretty excited
that it’s finally Friday. On tap for the
weekend includes mostly household chores, decorating for Christmas (judge all
you want, but if it doesn’t happen this week, well it’s not going to happen),
and hot yoga. I’ve been particularly addicted to Bikram Yoga these days, it’s
feeling very therapeutic for me – I feel so free during and after. It might be
a reaction to all my city living these days.
Wishing you and yours a great weekend!

four-eyes
I clearly need to stop going to Kate Spade online. I find so
many things that strike me as so cool and sort of make it to my maybe wish list
(you know the list, things you like but mentally cannot justify in your head
right now to buy). This unique necklace
in the shape of glasses is so cute – I keep thinking about what a fun little
accessory that would be for work. My inner nerd rejoices seeing them and I
wonder if I’d truly wear this fun piece or would just try it on all the time
and just take it off feeling like it wasn’t truly me. Anyway, I think the
glasses necklace is amazingly cute.
PS: Kate Spade is offering 30% off with friends and family
with the code FALL13FF

happy musings to end the week
A few things rounded out a long week at work (I love month
end close- really I do):
Almond & Coconut Kind Bars – supposedly “healthy” it
still tastes like Girl Scout Cookies to me
Kicking it at my workout five mornings this week. It’s a new
month so all new workouts meaning my mind’s confused and my muscles are like oh
hello.
A workout that included the musical stylings of *nsync (I
was a JC girl back in the day)
Leaving early on a Friday afternoon – I got the smile and
nod from the boss last night, like duh go and get to weekend
Rediscovering my love of Garth Brooks – and remembering classic
favorites such as “The Summer” and “Two
of a Kind”
A weekend guest who I’ve been looking forward to seeing for
a long time

31 candles on her birthday cake
And yikes… how did I get to another birthday so quickly I
ask you? I am actually quite excited to celebrate my birthday this year, I just
have a feeling that this year is going to be full of fun an all sorts of
surprises. Since my birthday actually
falls over a weekend, I am going to celebrate starting with a happy hour after
work at my favorite place for margaritas. I cannot get too crazy because in the
morning I am running a 10k in Central Park (I am nervous about the cold, the
distance, and well the hangover too if I am being completely honest). Saturday night is going to be the insane
night out though, heading to see Professional Bull Riding with my friends. I am
ridiculously excited for my cowboy themed outing – it best not disappoint. Hope you also have a fun weekend lined up –
hopefully I have lots of fun stories to report back on.
