Anna is better than Elsa

I confess, I only saw Frozen while in route home from the UK. I am beyond late to this party. I love going to the movies, but I don’t make it to the theaters the way I’d like to, so I love the day flight home from Europe because there are so many newer movies that I get to see, that maybe I’d never see. If you’ve been living under a rock, then you don’t know that Frozen was the masterpiece that Disney put out at the end of 2013 – very popular and I think everyone knows the lyrics to Let It Go (the song has been on my Spotify since the Oscars). I think everyone I knew with little girls has had to buy an Elsa dress, and that made me think she’d be the best character in the movie, but no no no, Anna is the best. Alas, I present you why Anna is the best Frozen character.

Anna is the younger sister, who just wants to be friends with her older sister. Now, I do think the parents keeping Elsa locked away was weird, but Anna just wanted her friend.

Elsa flees to the mountains to live in solitude, Anna makes friends with Kristoff, Olaf, Sven, Hans.

Anna sings “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” which is my favorite song from the movie.

Anna saves her sister, she could have kissed the boy, but instead she protects her sister from death. She’s all about the family even after being shafted for years.

Anna is so kind, Elsa kind of comes across as a b-word. And no, that’s not beautiful.

More Mindy Love

It’s not a secret that I love Mindy Kaling – I mean this is my second post about her already (see one,) , and probably not the last as I am totally awaiting the next season of “The Mindy Project”.  I am very excited to pick up a copy of Entertainment Weekly in which Mindy is featured. Renew my girl crush immediately please.  I am already figuring out when I should pick up this coveted edition since it hits newsstands on Friday (I love that New York actual has proper newsstands still), I kind of want to wait and enjoy it well relaxing and unwinding on vacation in the coming week. I love that Mindy is so relatable, and well hysterical – I long to be funny like her in my everyday life. I try and fail at humor pretty often – but I guess that’s why I am not in comedy. Normal weeks I countdown to Friday, mainly because Friday is a great start to the weekend – however I am counting down to appease my slight obsession with Mindy.

PS. Mindy if you read this by chance, I am not a scary stalker type – just a fan who’d probably end up being a bumbling idiot around you if I did run into you because I’d be so star-struck (so please, no restraining orders necessary).

slightly obsessed

I am completely loving everything about the royal baby, it’s been such a fun week following all the latest and greatest news about that little bubby. I’ve read countless articles on the little one from how he was named, how the now family of three left the hospital.  I also really loved Kate’s going home dress- she’s so graceful and lovely, and completely a real person.  Looking forward to seeing the (future, future, future) King grow up, but have as normal a life as a prince can.  Welcome to the world little guy!

you blow my mind

Dear Mindy-

Thank you for being you. I just finished your book “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?(and Other Concerns)” and I loved it, every single minute of it (Thank you to Ali for lending it to me, especially after I got to hear you laugh the entire time you were reading this book). It felt like you and I were sitting on my couch in yoga pants, drinking a few bottles of wine, telling each other funny stories and life lessons.  I particularly felt a kinship when you had a chapter dedicated to your blackberry photos – it felt like something I might also do if I was famous enough to have a book that other people might want to buy and read. I also want to say to you how much I am enjoying your new show – “The Mindy Project”, I will admit I was a little sad to see you leave “The Office” because Kelly was such a fun character, but thank goodness this new show is even more fun. The hilarious situations you get yourself into – makes me think we could take on the town one night and really reap havoc all over the city (any city, call me- maybe?). I also feel our bond of growing up in Massachusetts would seal our sisterhood and make us forever friends.

Appreciatively yours,
Jill

you might say I'm a dreamer

Do you ever dream about celebrities? I sometimes will put famous people in my dreams, yet they are never typically doing very celebrity type things. I recently put Blake Shelton in a dream where I was at an airport, for some reason he was traveling with two five year old boys that were twins, that appeared to be his sons (he doesn't have kids but he did in my dream).  It was actually quite strange as he asked me to get him a coffee before we boarded the plane, which I was more then willing to do - nothing like getting a celebrity Dunkin Donuts as a pre-boarding snack. I attribute the dream to all the episodes of The Voice, I watched over the spring- I must have just thought Blake seemed like someone who would ask me to buy him coffee.
